Vision
We seek to present the scientific facts and technology in a simple and understandable manner so that people even without basic education can develop their own knowledge and curiosity towards science and engineering. We aim at inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers.
History
Sri G D Naidu, an eminent industrialist and philanthropist of Coimbatore, South India, had a great passion for the automobile. He visited several countries during his life time and was fascinated by the workmanship and engineering capabilities of Germany and other forward nations. He was an ardent automobile enthusiast, science lover and loved learning the science behind the functioning and invention of everything that he came across.
G D Naidu Charitable Trust was started by Mr. GD Naidu in 1972. His purpose was to start a charity and make it a perpetual entity for imparting knowledge and sharing information to the community. He was a man of practical learning and he strongly believed that empowerment comes through dissemination of knowledge.
What we Do
G D Naidu Charities set up an interactive Science Centre named “Experimenta” that matches world class standards. This interactive science centre has more than 100 engaging interactive exhibits.
The Science centre also houses STEM Labs. The main objective of the science centre and the STEM Labs is to stimulate curiosity, develop an enquiring mind and enable children & adults to learn science in a very informal way.
Experimenta is set up in a hall with a sprawling area of over 4000 Sq ft with modern amenities. It has adequate number of well curated write-ups and information boards to explain about the science behind each of these exhibits. Visitors can experience common concepts of science by interacting with the exhibits in a fun manner, at their own pace.
The Centre has a team of science communicators, who add value to information on the exhibits and explain to the visitors in a more interesting manner. The exhibits in the science centre are very carefully chosen from across the world and have been arranged under five main categories
MOTION
ILLUSION
MATH

NATURE
Visitors are allowed in groups so that there is no cluttering and each one gets sufficient time to explore and experience each exhibit. The exhibits are spread in such a manner that group activities on certain exhibits are also possible to inculcate teamwork.
It is estimated to easily take around 3 hours to play or interact with all exhibits. Those who are constrained by time, can visit the Centre again to take catch up on the missed out exhibits.
The Experimenta Science Centre, located on the Second Floor of the main building, is accessible by a friendly ramp & Lift, adequately lit & well aerated and provides the visitors an enriching experience and time well spent in learning science in a fun filled manner.
This entire concept is one of a kind and is our dedication to the budding science enthusiasts from around the world who would enjoy learning science in a fun way. Get hands on and understand how science is brought to life in our interactive experience centre purely designed for the benefit of young minds who love to acquire real-world knowledge away from just reading on books!
